VITICULTURE
of the Ribeira Sacra
HARMONY WHITH THE EARTH
Equilibrium is everything
And we had to learn from the Sil, learn how to respect its rhythms, protect from the weather, and humbly accept its whims, knowing that this is the only way that our grapes can grow. The perfect equilibrium between man and the earth.
AMANDI
Viticulture
A UNIQUE AND ALMOST MAGICAL LAND
La crème de la crème
The Amandi subzone may well be the most beautiful wine region on the planet. The river channels in a deep canyon with elevated and defined slopes, making way for this natural setting with such poignant beauty.

MIRACLE WINES
First the soil
To be able to fully understand the grape, we must firstly understand the soils where the roots of the vine are hidden. Just 10cm of cultivable granite-like, slaty, and acid soil favours drainage.
This is just another one of the many peculiarities which help to explain the very unique characteristics of our grapes

PERFECT PLOTS
South facing
Our vines have gradually experienced a revolution in each of our vineyard plantations.
We explore new paths which enable us to successfully adapt to nature. We always make sure that we take into account the fact that the vine is a rebellious creeper and that we cannot leave its behaviour down to chance. Over time we have been able to understand that we will only be able to improve through observation and experimentation. You have to be able to understand how the vine behaves in each land to be able to sense this.

LA CAPITANA
Our best plantation covers more than 3 hectares. It is positioned on a slope of more than 45° very close to the Doade jetty. Here we grow the grapes for our Finca La Capitana tempranillo wine, which is our most special wine made from a non-autochthonous grape variety.

PORTA DOADE y SEOANE
A plot covering more than 2 hectares located very close to our winery. This plantation is in the heart of the Amandi subzone and as it is faced perfectly southwards which allows for the optimal maturation of the grapes which will be used for producing wines for aging, or wines which will be matured in casks. Our Regina Expresión wine which is matured in casks for ten months, is made from Mencía grapes from this particular plot.
MENCÍA AND GODELLO
Viticulture
THE ULTIMATE EXPRESSION OF THE SIL
Respect for the autochthonous grape
Our only remaining chance for survival is if we defend our own character.
We have searched through the autochthonous grape varieties so that we are able to continue to grow the same grape varieties that have been cultivated since the fifteenth century. There are more than 13 such grape varieties, of which, Mencías, Merenzaos, Albarellos, Caíños, and Godellos stand out.
THE MEDITERRANEAN
Viticulture
A MEDITERRANEAN MICROCLIMATE
In the heart of the Atlantic
Thanks to the Canyons we are able to enjoy the characteristic traits of a Mediterranean microclimate in an Atlantic Galicia. It took one of the oldest rivers in the Iberian Peninsula seventy million years to erode the Canyon. Vines face the South to get the maximum amount of sunlight. The result: a wine with exceptionally high quality standards.
